Week 7 SEC Rankings

Even more about the SEC was revealed last week. Alabama rolled over South Carolina with relative ease. Florida was almost upset in the Swamp by Arkansas. With that said, let's get to my SEC rankings.

1. Alabama - The Tide has rolled over not just South Carolina, but everyone they have played. They've even jumped over Florida to take the #1 spot in the AP Poll. Bama is looking better than even Florida right now, and they may be the best team in the nation.

2. Florida - Even though they're not as good as they were last year, the Gators are still the second-best team in the conference. However, they need to do better against a team like Arkansas if they want to be a national title contender.

3. LSU - Even though they lost to Florida, the Tigers are still the third best team in the SEC. They are coming off a bye week to face Auburn on Saturday, and this game will probably reveal something about LSU.

4. Tennessee - The Vols beat the crap out of Georgia two weeks ago, sending the Dawgs into a Year of Death. When you do that to a team that's supposed to be great, it shows that you are a good team. That's why the Vols get the nod at #4.

5. Ole Miss - The Rebels beat up UAB last week, winning 48-13. Besides the losses to South Carolina and Alabama, Ole Miss has looked pretty good this year. They will make a pretty good bowl if they keep it up. However, we should find out some stuff about Ole Miss next week, when they play Arkansas.

6. Auburn - Auburn has lost a few times recently (including to Kentucky), but they still get the nod over Georgia. If they beat the Dawgs, it will show that Auburn might be better than we think (even though Georgia's terrible).

The Dawgs still don't make it into my rankings. They'll have to at least slow down Florida if they want to be ranked again this year (either in my rankings or the polls). There's a country song by Toby Keith that really describes what has happened to Georgia:

"I ain't as good as I once was
That's just the cold, hard truth"
