1. Florida - I'm still uncertain about putting Florida over Alabama. Their Saturday night game against LSU in Baton Rouge will finally show us exactly how good Florida is.
2. Alabama - The Crimson Tide has yet to be challenged by an opponent. They have dominated on offense, defense, and special teams this year. Depending on what is revealed about Florida on Saturday night, Bama might jump the Gators next week.
3. LSU - The Tigers continue to get the #3 nod, even though they barely beat a terrible Georgia team in Athens. Saturday night's game in Baton Rouge may reveal some stuff about this team as well.
4. Auburn - The other Tigers jumped into the rankings this week after defeating Tennessee at Neyland Stadium. I'm still not sure about Auburn's defense, but their offense has been dominating. Gene Chizik may have cooked up a good team after all.
5. Ole Miss - The Rebels most likely won't hold this spot after their game against Alabama this weekend. However, as they have only lost once, they still get to keep their ranking ahead of Georgia.
6. Georgia - The Dawgs came amazingly close to beating 4th-ranked LSU in Athens last weekend. After Ole Miss looses (or, more correctly, gets blown out) by Alabama, Georgia will probably hold the #5 spot again.
The Bottom Few
- Obviously, Vanderbilt
- Mississippi State, the other Bulldogs
- Finally, Arkansas
