Horrible offense and bad coaching leads to loss

Georgia's coaching staff (especially Mike Bobo), combined with terrible play from the offense, led the Dawgs to a 20-13 loss against LSU earlier today. This makes Georgia 3-2 on the season and 1-8 in their last nine home games against AP top five teams.

The game ended up coming down to a last-minute LSU touchdown drive. After a 15-yard celebration penalty on Green (which was total BS) gave the Tigers good field position, they drove down the field to set up a last-second field goal. However, Charles Scott scored on a 33-yard run to give LSU a touchdown instead. The 2-point conversion made it 20-13.

LSU defender Perry Riley sealed the game on an interception with about 20 seconds remaining. After Riley was called out of bounds, the booth reviewed the play and ruled that it was an interception. The Tigers then took a knee to seal the victory.

After Georgia's bad terrible offense gained only one first down in the first half, they woke up some in the second half and scored two touchdowns. Washaun Ealey, a true freshman out of the Emanuel County Institute, made a huge debut by becoming Georgia's leading rusher for the game. Ealey, who played in the first game of his college career, rushed eight times for 33 yards (4.1 average).

Here's the good and the bad from the game:

The Good
Washaun Ealey - Ealey made a huge debut for the Bulldogs, rushing eight times for 33 yards to become Georgia's leading rusher in the game. He was also the first Dawg tailback this year to cut away from a tackle or push a pile.

The Defensive Line - Our defensive line harassed LSU's backfield all night long, getting some sacks and forcing some rushed throws. This area of Georgia's team is definitely showing some improvement.

Rennie Curran - Georgia's undersized linebacker played another great game, as he was all over the field and was in on a lot of tackles. Curran most likely won't play at the next level because of his size, but he is a good football player.

Drew Butler - Butler punted the ball seven times, but when he was called on, he didn't disappoint Dawg fans. He got 344 yards on those seven punts for an average of 49.1. He didn't even have to rely on the 30-40 Yard Roll.

The Bad
The Other Tailbacks - All of Georgia's rushers for the game (except Ealey) combined for 16 carriers and 12 yards for an average below one. This area of our offense has been horrible all year long. I really expect Ealey to become the starting tailback VERY soon.

Joe Cox - Joe Cox came out and gave the Dawgs a very disappointing performance. He completed 18 out of 34 passes for 229 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. This is not as good as it sounds, as the Dawgs had five drives in the first half, which resulted in four three-and-outs and one first down and then punt. I think that we should give Logan Gray or Aaron Murray a chance at the QB spot.

Blair Walsh - This game could have been closer if Walsh hadn't screwed up a short field goal attempt. He booted his kick just outside the right upright, taking three points away from Georgia and giving LSU the ball back. The score would have been 20-16 if the kick had gone through.

The Coaches - Once again, the Dawgs coaching staff didn't live up to expectations. Some of Bobo's play calling was absolutely stupid, Willie Martinez couldn't stop LSU's offense when he needed to most, and everyone could clearly see that Georgia's players are not very disciplined.

The Ugly
The Celebration Penalties - The refs called a celebration penalty after all three touchdowns. All the players did was look up at the crowd and make a few hand motions. Since when is that illegal? Also, if you can't do that, what CAN you do?
