Hoop Dawgs Destroy Thoughts of Winless Season

Georgia's basketball team sent a winless SEC season off the table on Saturday in Athens. Terrance Woodbury scored a career-high 32 points to lead the upset victory on the Gators. The win also damaged Florida's hopes of an SEC Eastern Division title.

Erving Walker and Walter Hodge missed final second shots for Florida to allow Georgia to escape with the win. Georgia managed to avoid its first 12 game losing streak since 1951-52.

Woodbury scored 20 points in the first half, going 7-for-7 shooting and 5-for-5 on three pointers.

The Dawgs led by 14 points three times in the first half, but Florida took its first lead with 8:03 left in the game by hitting two free throws.

The Gators missed a chance to stay even with Kentucky. The Wildcats won 79-63 Saturday at Arkansas.
