The final polls all came out yesterday. The undefeated Utah Utes were #2 in the AP Poll and #3 in the Coaches Poll. Even before the BCS National Championship Game was played, I believed that Utah should be ranked #1 to end the season. Here's why: they were the only undefeated team in the FBS this year, and they dominated a team that had been ranked at #1 for five weeks during the regular season. When teams are good enough to do both of those things, they deserve to be ranked #1, not 2 or 3.
Here's how I think the top 5 should be laid out:
1. Utah (13-0)
2. Florida (13-1)
3. USC (12-1)
4. Texas (12-1)
5. Oklahoma (12-2)
