Lady Hoop Dawgs Hand Auburn First Loss

Angel Robinson scored 17 points to lead the lady Georgia basketball team in their defeat of Auburn Thursday night. The final score was 67-58. The victory was the Tigers' first loss of the season.

Christy Marshall had 15 points and Angela Puleo added 10 as the Lady Dawgs won their third straight, including consecutive games against top 25 teams. The Bulldogs beat then #17 Vanderbilt last week.

The loss by Auburn left #1 Connecticut as the only unbeaten team left in women's college basketball.

DeWanna Bonner had 27 points and Sherell Hobbs had 11 for the Tigers. Auburn's 20 straight wins to open the season was its best start since winning its first 28 games in the 1988-89 season.

Georgia took its first win over a top five team since beating Texas on November 21, 2004.
