Just Like Football: Dawgs Are Big Time Gator Bait

Prior to last night's game against the Florida Gators, Georgia had dropped 10 straight games to them. That can be made 11 now. The Bulldogs sputtered on offense and couldn't stop Florida guard Nick Calathes in route to a 83-57 blowout loss.

If that isn't enough to compeletely depress Georgia basketball fans, this might. Out of the last 11 straight losses to Florida, 10 in a row have been by double digits.

Nick Calathes put on a show against the Dawgs, gaining the second triple-double of his career. He scored 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead the Gators. Georgia was led by Corey Butler and Howard Thompkins with 10 points each.

The loss drops Georgia to 0-5 in SEC play and 9-11 overall. This game tied their record for most straight losses (seven). The previous record was in coach Dennis Felton's second season at Georgia, when the Dawgs dropped seven straight SEC games and finished 8-20 (2-14 SEC).

Felton continues to come under fire and it is more likely every day that this will be his last season at Georgia. Although nothing is official, the message boards lit up last night with rumors that Felton would be fired today after the big loss. That remains to be seen, but remember from a previous post, it's not if, but when.
