December 26 Bowl Results

Motor City Bowl: Florida Atlantic 24, Central Michigan 21
After about 90% of college football fans voted for Central Michigan to win, Florida Atlantic came in for the upset. The Owls have only played major college football for 8 years, and they already have a bowl winning streak. Quarterback Rusty Smith threw for 307 yards and two second half touchdowns to lead the Owls to the win. With the teams still tied at 10 in the third quarter, Smith hooked up with Chris Bonner for a 52 yard touchdown. Smith found Cortez Gent with an 18 yard pass early in the fourth to seal the victory. Owl coach Howard Schnellenberger improved to 6-0 in bowl games.
