Florida Blocks Two Punts at the Swamp

The Florida Gators punt block defense has blocked two Kentucky punts in a row at the Swamp in Gainesville.

On Kentucky's first punt, a Florida defender ran right through a blocker and was on the Kentucky punter quickly to block the kick. Kentucky was penalized for illegally kicking the ball after the punt was blocked, and this gave Florida the ball at the three yard line. Tim Tebow ran the ball in on the first play.

On the second punt, Jeffrey Demps ran right through Kentucky's blocking without being touched and dove to block the kick. The Florida player recovering the ball went out of bounds inside the one. Brandon James rushed the ball into the end zone on the first play to give the Gators a 14-0 lead.

Teams that have blocked a kick in a game win about 95% of the time. Right now, it's looking as if Florida will win the game.
