Richt: "I Wish It was Hotter"

Un unseasonably cool afternoon was the last thing Mark Richt wanted during the football team's practices this week. The Arizona State game Saturday night is predicted to be in the high 90's.

"I wish it was hotter," Richt said as he walked off the field Tuesday with temperatures in the 60's. Georgia practiced for two and a half hours in full pads in preparation for their matchup against the Sun Devils in Tempe.

Earlier on Tuesday, the cooler temperatures were also a topic of conversation when Richt was asked if the weather was a factor. Richt said he did think the temperature would definitely change the outcome of the game.

Richt also discussed the other challenges Arizona State presents. "They are returning 39 lettermen," Richt said. "Coach (Dennis) Erickson has won a couple of national championships at Miami, my alma mater. Being on teams that have coached against him in the past, he is a very innovative coach. He is one who does a fantastic job of getting his personnel in the right spots. I was reading their media information and I saw where he has been responsible for stopping streaks of three teams that had 10 or more straight wins. Now all of a sudden we have hit the magic number, 10, and I’m sure they are going to bring that up to their team, and he will have confidence to stop our streak right now.”

Kickoff on Saturday will be at 8:13 PM Eastern Time on ABC. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network, which includes 750 AM in Atlanta as well as 106.1 FM and 960 AM in Athens. The radio broadcast can also be heard worldwide on georgiadogs.com and XM Satellite Radio.
