My rankings for every week are based on a formula shown below.
The top 10 teams in the AP Poll are ranked using the formula.
Compile a top-ten list for each of the following numbers:
1. AP Poll Rank
2. USA Today Poll Rank
3. Record: highest=#1, 2nd highest=#2, etc.
4. Points scored minus points allowed
5. My personal top-10
For each top-ten list, score a #1 rank as 10 points, a #2 rank as 9 points, a #3 rank as 8 points, etc., all the way to a #10 rank as 1 point.
After all points for each list are added, the team with the most is #1, second most is #2, third most is #3, etc. Make the complete list of the top ten and that shows my rankings.
If two teams are tied in the final list, follow this tie-breaking procedure:
Head-to-head result
Most points scored
Least points allowed
By this point, a tie is usually broken. If not, go to the next list.
If three or more teams are tied in the final list, start here on the tie-breaking list:
Most points scored
Least points allowed
If still tied, look at the rankings in the AP Poll and rank the teams based on that.
